Muhammad Khan
Founder & Director of Operations
Muhammad Khan Abdul-Aziz is a father of five, a proud Pontiac native, and a lifelong builder—of homes, of communities, and of people. As Director of Operations for Perry Street Empowerment, Muhammad brings over 12 years of hands-on construction experience and deep operational insight to lead the nonprofit’s workforce and housing initiatives. A certified journeyman carpenter (Local 1234), certified Michigan barber, and certified personal trainer, his diverse skillset mirrors his passion for holistic community development.
Muhammad has framed over 100 homes and managed complex operational pipelines, including budgeting, supply chains, compliance, and performance evaluation. But beyond his technical expertise, Muhammad’s leadership is grounded in service. A volunteer of United Brothers of Change, former football coach, and former board member of the Pontiac Farmers Market, he’s organized countless give-back events aimed at restoring pride and opportunity in urban neighborhoods.
His drive is rooted in his faith: “I do this for Allah,” he says. “I plan my days not to give into my desires, but to do the work necessary to uplift communities.” Inspired by his mother’s resilience raising 7 children, Muhammad leads by example—offering not only structure, but spirit.
Whether he’s walking a construction site, mentoring a young apprentice, or sharing wisdom outdoors with his children, Muhammad’s presence leaves an impression. His goal is clear: to help revive urban communities across Southeast Michigan, create jobs, and give families a real shot at ownership and stability.
“The only thing between you and your future, is your will. Stay discipline, stay resilient, stay focused, don’t give up. Do what it takes—.”
